Laras’Story
Laras was born in Banyuwangi, Java, and from a young age dreamed of seeing the world. Captivated by stories like the Titanic, she always hoped to visit its museum one day—never imagining how closely her own story would come to be tied to Ireland. In later years, she developed a fondness for Guinness, as if drawn to a place she had yet to discover. That same sense of wonder led her to a life at sea—where, by chance or perhaps fate, her path crossed with Conor’s, and the next chapter of her journey began.
Conor’s Story
Conor grew up in Naas, Ireland, with a natural love of people and an early desire to see the world. That sense of adventure led him into hospitality, a path that took him across continents and out to sea, shaping the life he lives today. His journey eventually brought him to Virgin Voyages—where, by chance or perhaps fate, he met Laras. While Ireland will always be home, Bali is now where his heart belongs.
Our Relationship
We met on January 25th, 2020, on a cold evening in Genoa—in a not-so-romantic shipyard that somehow sparked everything. When the world paused, we were pulled apart—but in 2021, we found our way back to the same ship, and back to each other. From that moment on, we knew. We’ve been side by side ever since, building a life together across the world—and now we’re getting married!
